Our short fibres made from alkali resistant glass are very successful at preventing shrinkage cracks in the casting of concrete. They are always used when there is a special danger of cracks, e.g. when concreting over an already hard concrete or with large castings of very fine-grained mortar. In thin-walled workpieces, they also increase the load-bearing capacity.
Glass fibres in D12 and I13 variants. These here are of the type I13, where the letter I stands for "integral" and 13 for a fibre length of 13 mm.
The word "integral" means that several single fibres always stick together in water-insoluble bundles. During preparation, the bundles look like little needles in the concrete. The advantage of this variant is that it allows for slightly larger amounts of fibres to be added to the mixture. Recommended dosage is maximum 2% of the concrete weight
