With our cotton gauze you can make extremely light and stable objects out of concrete. This is ideal, for example, for feather-light concrete lampshades. But it is also possible to transform plastic flower pots into concrete flower pots that are light and stable. A substructure made of rabbit wire provides a weatherproof alternative to papier-mâché with enormous strength.
The processing of our cotton gauze is similar to that of medical plaster bandages, except that with our technology the result is many times more stable and weatherproof. You dip individual pieces of cotton gauze into a cement suspension, wring them out thoroughly and then drape them over a support body. The suitable cement suspension consists of our high-strength flowing cement CEM-FLUP®-22 with a water addition of 30% by weight.
For a stable construction, at least three layers of soaked cotton gauze should be laid on top of each other. The next day, the workpiece is already extremely hard and can be further finished with modelling mortar or painted and filled with cementitious coating compounds such as our Marfino®.
