Primer
Please select only one component.

You always need a primer if the substrate is absorbent (masonry, plasterboard, plaster).

If this is not the case, you can omit this component.

The primer has the task of removing the absorbency of the substrate and at the same time ensuring a non-slip surface for subsequent coats.

We recommend our solvent-free SQ-TIEFGRUND for this purpose.

Sealing
Please select only one component.

You always need a seal if the areas to be designed are in the splash water area.

If this is not the case or if a functional seal already exists, you can omit this component.

The purpose of the waterproofing is to protect the underlying structure so that no moisture can penetrate and cause damage.

We recommend our DSB sealing compound for this purpose.

Carrier layer
Please select only one component.

You always need a base layer if there is a problematic substrate to which the intended microcement would not adhere well enough. This could be an existing tiled substrate, for example, which would otherwise be too smooth, or a lightweight OSB wall, or even a substrate sealed with sealing slurry.

If this does not apply and the substrate is unproblematic in your case, you can omit this component. Generally unproblematic substrates are, for example, uniformly plastered wall surfaces or smooth screed surfaces.

The approximately 1 mm thick base layer ensures that a durable and load-bearing connection is established to the existing substrate so that the subsequent layers cannot peel off again later. It also guarantees that no undesirable discolouration or colour shading occurs if the substrate is inhomogeneous or made up of different materials.

As a rule, an armour fabric is embedded in the substrate layer for reinforcement (see next component).

We recommend our high-quality white KLEMO adhesive for the base layer.

Textile insert
Please select a maximum of 1.

You need a textile inlay to reinforce the substrate layer if you want to ensure that the substrate layer has a uniform thickness everywhere and remains permanently intact even where different materials adjoin each other in the substrate. This prevents uneven penetration of discolouration from the substrate and the formation of cracks, delamination and other defects.

The textile inlay also makes it much easier to smooth the substrate layer evenly once it has been laid into the fresh substrate layer, ensuring a uniform and even overall appearance at the end.

We recommend our armoured fabric as a textile inlay

Top layer
Please select only one component.

The top layer of MARFINO® Concrete Surface Microcement is the visible Surface.

For single-layer levelling, the consumption is approximately 1 kg per m². As a rule, a single layer of levelling compound is sufficient. If you prefer a two-layer levelling coat in order to achieve an even more perfect result, please double the quantity of MARFINO® ordered, as the selection preconfigured here only provides for a single levelling coat for an area of 20 m².

MARFINO® Concrete Surface is available in various colours, from which you can choose here. If you want to mix in the pigments of your choice to achieve your own colour shade, please select the colour white, as this is the natural shade of MARFINO® without pigments. In this case, we recommend using our GRAN-X pigments for an optimum colour result.

Silicification
Please select only one component.

You need silicification to harden the surface produced with MARFINO® CS and make it resistant to water. This is particularly essential in splash water areas.

We recommend our tried and tested LFC for silicification.

Final treatment
Please select only one component.

The final treatment is an optional protective coating that makes the surface easier to care for and less susceptible to soiling.

There are basically two options here: (1) impregnation and (2) coating. While a coating provides better protection, impregnation has the advantage that it does not create a film on the surface and therefore remains invisible, which better emphasises the natural character of the concrete. In addition, the impregnation cannot scratch or flake off

Within the coatings, there is also a distinction between one- and two-component products. If the coating is to be applied in splash water areas, a two-component product should always be used.

We recommend our tried and tested H10 as an impregnation and, alternatively, the one-component STRA-TOP coating or the two-component PUR-2 Coating.
